Legal Deposition Videography Service Explained

Court depositions can be complex and intense, but All Business Videography LLC makes the videography piece of the process simple.

All Business Videography (ie ABVLLC) was founded by longtime television news producer Matt DeSarle.

He uses his extensive background covering complex law and policy issues to deliver a professional service to treat each case with care and confidentiality. Whether Matt himself is behind the lens or one of our other qualified videographers, the recording and delivery will be high quality.

All Business Videography provides straight-forward legal deposition videography services for law firms.  We also work with multiple court reporter agencies throughout the state.

How much does legal videography cost in Pennsylvania with All Business Videography LLC?

Legal videography services provided by All Business Videography LLC include 4K or HD quality video with clean picture and sound. The witness typically will wear a lavaliere microphone. This ensures that their testimony is captured without any interference. The picture quality can be recorded and delivered in 4K, HD, or lower quality.  Some law firms prefer longer recordings at a lower bitrate (see below). Law firms will receive unedited full recordings of the deposition. Recordings might be limited to 60 minutes apiece due to individual camcorder settings.

What’s excluded from legal videography services?

The service includes one videographer responsible for overall quality control. He or she will not be a notary. A notary or court reporter must be provided by the law firm hiring our service. The videography services include a recording, but not a live feed (Zoom or equivalent). Oftentimes, a video conference can easily be set up by a laptop or equivalent as a separate but parallel process. Video editing is also not included in the service. If portions of the testimony need to be edited together, a $55 per hour service will be bid as a separate project.

How much does a legal videographer cost?

The cost of videography for a legal deposition is dictated by the videographer's time and equipment, not necessarily measured by the resolution of the video.  Because deposition sometimes marathons with 1-2 hours per recording, some law firms prefer lower resolution video recordings.   For example, we've recorded depositions at 720p quality.  This makes it easier to transfer video files to other offices.  The cost for legal videography includes one hour for set-up and a minimum of 3 hours total.  The hourly rate and related services are listed below.

  • $45 per hour for 1280x720 quality, Mbps (bits per second)
  • $55 per hour for HD quality, 17 Mbps
  • $65 per hour for HD quality, 35 Mbps
  • $95 per hour for 4K quality, 150 Mbps

Extras in addition to legal deposition videography recording service

Our legal videography rates include three people mic'd up.  Therefore, setup normally includes the deponent and two attorneys wearing microphones.  We might use wireless microphones based on equipment availability and the room's logistics.

Videography rates do not include a black curtain backdrop and they do not include a laptop for live (Zoom) video conferencing.  If clients need video conferencing, we rely on the wifi network for internet at the host site.  We outline a few extra costs related to deposition videography below.

Add-on services for legal videography extras

  • 30% rush *delivery within 24 hours (otherwise delivery happens in 3-5 business days)
  • $30 per extra microphone after the first three
  • $50 black backdrop **kit and set-up
  • $80 laptop fee for hardware and set-up

*Costs above include private delivery of full recordings on Dropbox.
**Costs above do not include lighting kit, video editing, or other enhancements not listed.

Why our video production agency records depositions for law firms in Pennsylvania

At All Business Videography LLC, we specialize in documenting what's real. While many clients hire us for testimonial marketing videos, customer interviews, case study videos, and corporate video production, the technical process is remarkably similar to legal deposition videography. Both require professional audio recording, multiple microphones, reliable video capture, and careful attention to detail. Because we already provide interview videography services and business videography throughout Pennsylvania, adding deposition video services for law firms was a natural extension of our work. Whether recording witness testimony or client testimonials, our goal remains the same: create an accurate, professional record of a real person's story.
